M'SIA'S PARLIMENT REJECTS EMERGENCY MOTION ON HINDRAF
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 20 (Bernama) -- The Lower House of Parliament Monday
rejected an emergency motion by M. Kulasegaran, an opposition MP to discuss the
government decision declaring the Hindu Rights Action Front (Hindraf) an illegal
organisation as there is no urgency.
In rejecting the motion, the Speaker Pandikar Amin Mulia said the matter
could be raised and discussed at length during debate on the
Supply Bill 2009.
"The motion can be hastened if there were no opportunities available during
the Lower House of Parliment session," he said.
Kulasegaran had asked the Lower House of Parliment to adjourn and discuss
the Hindraf issue claiming that the government ban on the unregistered group was
unfair and inappropriate.
