FOURTEEN FOREIGN JOURNALISTS TO VISIT N SULAWESI
Manado, N Sulawesi, Oct 20 (ANTARA) - A group of journalists from 14 foreign countries will make a three-day observation tour of North Sulawesi province starting on October 25, a local official said.
The foreign journalists' visit is the result of cooperation between the Foreign Ministry and the local organizing committee of the World Ocean Conference (WOC) to ensure the success of the event to be held here on May 11-15 next year, Dr. Noldi Tuera, secretary of the event's local organizing committee, said here on Monday.
The journalists will come from Australia, China, Fiji, India, Japan, Nauru, the Netherlands, New Zealand, the Philippines, North Korea, Thailand, Timor Leste, the United Kingdom and Vietnam.
During their stay in the province, the foreign journalists will hold a meeting with the conference's local organizing committee and observe preparations for the international event which will bring together hundreds of representatives from many countries, he said.
The journalists are expected to take advantage of the visit to write interesting stories about the province's potentials and preparations for the conference, he said.
The foreign journalists will also meet with local counterparts to exchange experience and views on the press systems in their countries, he said.
Also on the agenda of the foreign journalists' trip is a visit to the Bunaken marine park in Manado.
