ARAB MEDIA OUTLOOK 2008 SET FOR NOVEMBER RELEASE

DUBAI, Oct 20 (Bernama) -- The Arab Media Outlook 2008-2012, the second edition of the ground-breaking report on the current state of the Arab media based on extensive research, will be released at the end of next month.

The report, brought out by the Dubai Press Club (DPC) in association
with
PriceWaterHouseCoopers (PWC), focuses on a number of global trends in the media
industry and how they are impacting the Middle East region.

DPC chairperson, Mona Al Marri, said the document would be very
representative of the latest developments in the Arab media as it covered 12
countries, namely the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait,
Lebanon, Oman, Morocco, Qatar, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia and Yemen.

"The Outlook will be a reference for policymakers, media personnel,
regulators, financial investors, technology vendors and academics associated
with the media sector.

"The report will also bear testimony to the quick pace at which Arab media
is growing across the region in terms of technology, content and human
resources," she said in a statement.

The study is based on interviews with heads and chief executives of various
Arab media organisations, daily newspapers, television stations, newswire
services, media universities and journalist associations as well as on PWC's
annual Global Entertainment and Media Report and research.

The first edition of the Arab Media Outlook was released last year at the
Arab Media Forum 2007.
