BTC PIPELINE TO BEGIN OIL EXPORT OF KAZAKH OIL WITHIN NEXT FEW DAYS
Baku, 19 0ctober ,(AzerTAj)Baku-Tbiilsi-Ceyhan oil pipeline will start transporting oil extracted from Kazakh Tengiz field within the next few days. Tankers will deliver oil from port of Aktau to Azerbaijan. Kazakh oil is scheduled to be loaded onto tankers in the Ceyhan terminal in November.
According to the BP, the initial amount of Kazakh oil was increased from 2 to 5 million. It is going to reach 20 million tons in the future. Increase in oil export meets the interests of USA, European Union and Kazakhstan.
Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Masimov said he favors diversified oil export. Construction of the Caspian underwater pipeline will be the final step to deliver Kazakh energy resources to the world markets via Azerbaijan. The feasibility study of the project is being prepared.
