Future Forum to be launched in UAE soon
SANA'A, Oct 18 (Saba) - At the Future Forum to be hosted by the United Arab Emirates UAE on October 19, Yemen will present a comprehensive view to promote reforms in the region, the state-run 26sep.net said on Saturday.
The forum would be attended by Foreign ministers of Middle East and North Africa
countries, Turkey and the eight industrialized countries as well as EU partners.
In the opening session, three addresses would be delivered by Yemen, the United Arab
Emirates and Japan.
Foreign minister Abu Bakr al-Qirbi was quoted as saying Yemen's speech will focus on
four crucial issues.
These issues are, First is that responsibility of the Future Forum is
responsibility of the region countries, secondly, establishing a clear relationship
between partners either for the eight industrialized countries or other countries
with their regional counterparts to boost the role of the forum and provide
necessary support for reforms, thirdly strengthening the relationship between the
governments and the civil society organizations and fourthly the issue of
instituting the forum's work.
Al-Qirbi said Yemen will review improvements she has made in carrying out reforms,
adding Yemen plays a vital role in promoting the democratic dialogue through the
tripartite committee that comprises of Yemen, Italy and Turkey and which was set up
under the G8 summit convened in the US in 2004.
In the closed discussions several issued would be raised including political
reforms, sustainable development, assessment of the role of the civil society
organizations and their relationship with the governments, al-Qirbi said.
Ahead of the forum meetings that will gather the ministers and meetings for top
employees would be held.
