Criminal case filed over train and bus collision in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan, Baku, Aug 31 /Trend K.Zarbaliyeva/ The Prosecutor's Office of Baku has filled a criminal case over a serious collision of a train and a passenger bus which took place on Friday morning near Baku, resulting in casualties, a joint statement of the Prosecutor-General and the Ministry of the Interior said As noted in the report, a criminal case has been filled under articles 262.3 (violation of safety rules and operation of railway transport) and 263.3 (violation of traffic rules and vehicle operation) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan. A train and a passenger bus, travelling on route number 124, collided with a train in the Garadagh district of Baku. The accident occurred at 07:25 on the stretch of Putah - Heybat. The train travelling from Agstafa to Baku collided with the DAEWOO bus (licence number 10-TF-427) at a secured crossing. According to preliminary data six people died and 47 were injured as a result of the accident. Some 18 people were sent home after receiving first aid with 26 still being treated. The condition of 10 victims is moderate to severe. A hotline to the General Prosecutor's Office (493-72-80), the Ministry of Interior (493-62-64), and the Ministry of Health (565-12-75) is created to obtain the necessary information.
