Iran elected 9th rotating president of Asian Cooperation Assembly

Tehran, Oct 18, IRNA- Asian Cooperation Assembly( ACA) at the end of its one-day meeting in Astana, capital of Kazakhstan, and in the presence of foreign ministers from 31 members countries elected the Islamic Republic of Iran as the 9th rotating president of the ACA.

According to the report of Foreign Ministry Media Department on
Friday, the next meeting of ACA will be held here in Tehran in 2010.

Among other approvals of the meeting was electing Iran as the sole
collaborator of Asia E-University as well as collaborator in private
sector project and university which its first meeting will be held
here in Tehran in January 2009.

Iran was also elected as in charge of cultural cooperation in Asia
which will hold its first session in Iran some time later in the year
2009.

ACA was founded with the aim of making a regional convergence in Asia
with membership of 31 countries, including Iran, Japan and Russia.
