MEETING AT BAKU SLAVONIC UNIVERSITY

Baku, 17 0ctober ,(AzerTAj)Baku Slavonic University hosted Chairman of the Russian State Duma's Committee for CIS Affairs Alexey Ostrovsky.

The meeting was held within
the bounds of “Ambassadorial hour”, Press service of the University told AzerTAc.
Welcoming Mr. Ostrovsky, rector of the University, NASA corresponding member Kamal
Abdulla said that the University attached great importance to the training of highly
skilled Russian language and literature specialists as well as the regional history
experts. “The University also promotes teaching Azerbaijani history and languages in
Russian universities and colleges”, Mr. Abdulla added.
Mr. Ostrovsky was pleased to notice that unlike the situation in other CIS
countries, Russian language still remains among the major disciplines in Azerbaijani
universities.
The guest has also visited Russian cultural center of the University.
