S. Korea's first budget carrier to suspend flight services
SEOUL, Oct. 17 (Yonhap) -- Hansung Airline, a South Korean budget carrier, said
Friday it will cease operations due to worsening management conditions.
The carrier said it will discontinue its two domestic routes starting Saturday,
citing rising jet-fuel costs, a weakened won and difficulties in funding.
The airline, based in Cheongju, 137 kilometers south of Seoul, was the country's
first local low-fare carrier. It has been running flights between Gimpo and Jeju
Island and Cheongju-Jeju Island since 2005.
