Turkmenistan to conduct census this year

Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, Aug. 13 / Trend H.Hasanov / Ashgabat has hosted a meeting of the state census commission, the Turkmen government said on Tuesday. The census is scheduled for December 15-26, 2012. This will be the second census since independence. The census will gather accurate data on the demographic composition of the population. The focus of discussion was the application of advanced information and communication technologies, as well as the study of international experience to the efficient organization of the action. Turkmenistan is working with the UNPF.
