LG Chem to invest 145.8 bln won on plant expansion

SEOUL, Oct. 17 (Yonhap) -- LG Chem Ltd., South Korea's leading producer of
chemicals, said Friday that it has decided to spend 145.8 billion won (US$109.3
million) to expand its battery production plant.
"We have decided to expand our battery plant to meet growing global demand," said
LG Chem in a regulatory filing.
Expansion of the plant in Ochang, 95 kilometers south of Seoul, will be
conducted between October this year and August next year, the company said.
