Bahrain's PM: Islamic Summit Historic Opportunity to Prompt Arab and Islamic Efforts

Doha, August 13 (QNA) - HRH Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa expressed hope that the Extraordinary Islamic Summit, to be hosted by Makkah on Tuesday, will come out with solutions to preserve the unity and security of the Arab and Islamic countries and keep them away from the danger of fragmentation, civil war or sectarianism. The Prime Minister said in an interview with the Qatari daily (Al-Rayyah) and the Bahraini daily (Akhbar Al Khaleej), that the region's latest events and challenges as well as the attempts to interfere in its internal affairs make the Extraordinary Islamic Summit very import. Prince Khalifa bin Salman said that the summit is a historic opportunity to push forward Arab and Muslim world's efforts, adding that it is also an occasion to unite the Muslims against all the challenges and circumstances faced by their countries, internally and externally, in light of the seriously growing problems, noting to the genocide or the risk of sliding into civil war in some countries. He also expressed confidence in the ability of the leaders of Arab and Islamic countries to resolve the issues that will be raised at the Summit. He pointed out that Arab and Islamic countries, especially the GCC States, had suffered from interference in internal affairs which threatened their security today, expressing hope that the Summit would come out with resolutions to ensure security and stability in the GCC states. Bahrain's Prime Minister affirmed his country's support for all Arab and Islamic efforts leading to greater convergence and cohesion. (QNA)
