PM meets visiting Russian delegation
SANA'A, Oct 16 (Saba) - At the meeting with the Russian delegation
led by chairman of the Russian Upper House Seregi Mironov, currently
visiting Yemen, prime minister Ali Mujawar called for the
establishment of a Yemeni-Russian businessmen council.
He said the council will work to expand economic and trade
relations between the two countries as well as encouraging the two
countries businessmen to establish joint investment projects in the
existence of promising investment opportunities in both countries.
Muawar also discussed with the delegation aspects of bilateral
cooperation particularly in the fields of economy, investment and
trade at public and private levels.
Mujawar renewed Yemen's call on Russian companies to invest in
Yemen, assuring them they will receive special care.
He said there are a lot of opportunities to raise the trade volume
between Yemen and Russia.
At the meeting, Mujawar reviewed improvements Yemen has made either
in the political area or comprehensive national reforms and
fighting corruption and measures to improve the investment climate
in the country.
For his part, Mironov hailed achievements Yemen has made in various
fields and touched on the Yemeni government's intention to enhance
public participation through the president Ali Abdullah Saleh's
initiative to amend constitution under which the parliamentary
system would be converted into a two houses system.
