Abdul-Ghani, Mironov held press conference

SANA'A, Oct. 16 (Saba)- Chairman of Shoura Council Abdul-Aziz
Abdul-Ghani and Chairman of the Russian Upper House Seregi Mironov
asserted strong Yemeni-Russian relations in the night of celebrating
the 80th anniversary of signing friendship and trade accord between
the two countries.

The two parts affirmed in the press conference they held on Thursday
that the two councils are keen on fixing means ensuring mutual
relations between Yemen and Russia.

Abdul-Ghani commenced the conference with speech welcoming Russian
guest, describing the day of fruitful work saying ," we have
reasserted during the talk sessions importance of joint work for
developing relations and joint cooperation in parliamentarian,
trade, economic and investment fields."

He said that cooperation protocol between Shoura Council and Upper
House for enhancing the roles of the two councils in serving
interests of the two countries has been signed.

For his part, Mironov said:"We met today with country's high ranking
officials and we can conclude from these meetings that our
countries' relations are based strongly and we have to fix means
ensuring their improvement." Responding to question on piracy,
Mironov disapprove piracy in Aden Gulf and Indian Ocean, calling
regional countries to face piracy phenomenon.

He said that a Russian warship would arrive Aden Port soon and that
if the matter worsened, the warship would fight terror and piracy
acts for freeing the Ukrainian ship held by Somali coasts' pirates.

Over economic cooperation, the Russian official clarified his
country's keenness on developing relations with Yemen in economic
and investment fields, namely in oil and gas fields as well as
infrastructure, expressing hop that the cooperation protocol the two
councils signed would contribute in future development of the
relations between the two countries.
