Qatar Exchange Index Drops 3.77 Points This Week

Doha, July 19 (QNA) - Qatar Exchange index dropped 3.77 points (0.05%) this week when trading closed Thursday at 8,281.26 points. The trading value this week wash QR 776,546,327.09, a decrease by 27.55%, compared with QR 1,071,901,858.45 the previous week. The trading volume increased by 8.26% to reach 24,315,376 shares as against 22,460,620 shares while the number of transactions rose by 9.55%, to reach 13,441 transactions compared with 12,269 transactions the previous week. The market capitalization rose by 0.34% to reach QR 455,174,278,020.80 compared with QR 453,615,628,225.97 at the end of previous week. From the 42 listed companies 22 ended this week higher while 14 fell and six companies remained unchanged. Qatar Meat and Livestock Trading Company led the traded value this week accounting for 12.45% of the total traded value. Industries Qatar accounted for 10.62%. Mazaya accounted for 7.88%. Banks and financial services led the traded value this week with 41.07% of the total traded value. Industrial sector accounted for 17.39%, Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted for 16.28% and real estate accounted for 15.53%. Banks and financial services sector led traded volume this week with 34.2% of the total traded volume. Real Estate accounted for 30.85%. Consumer Goods and Services accounted for 11.34% and industrial sector accounted for 9.86%. Banks and financial services sector led the number of transactions traded this week with 35.53% of the total transactions. Consumer Goods and Services accounted for 16.93%. Real Estate accounted for 16.61% and industrials sector accounted for 14.31%. (QNA)
