WB grants Yemen $15 mln to assist agricultural sectors
WASHINGTON, Oct. 15 (saba)- Yemen and World Bank signed on Wednesday
in Washington an agreement of additional grant of $15 million
allocated to save underground water project in Yemen.
The grant presented by the World Bank is aims to support
agricultural sector and other concerned sectors in Yemen in fields
of improving irrigation systems and strengthening stored underground
water to contribute to boost and increase surface and underground
water.
The grant also included to provide assistance to Yemen in the sides
relating to water resources management, dividing frames and
institutional structure in water sector.
Deputy Premier for Economic Affairs, Minister of Planning and
International Cooperation Abdul-Karim al Arhabi and the Middle East
and North African Region Director in the World Bank signed the
agreement.
