Thailand to start redeploying troops near Preah Vihear

BANGKOK, July 16 (TNA) - The redeployment of Thai troops in an area along the Thai-Cambodian border near the ancient Preah Vihear Temple, where a provisional demilitarized zone has been ordered by the World Court, is scheduled to start on July 18. Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul confirmed with the Thai News Agency (TNA) on Monday, however, that there would be no troop pullout from the unsettled area in Thailand's northeastern Si Sa Ket Province by the Thai side. Around 4,000 Thai troops are currently stationed at the common border near the Preah Vihear Temple.(TNA)
