Thai authorities on alert for dengue fever outbreak

BANGKOK, July 15 (TNA) - Fears of a dengue fever outbreak have led health officials to tend to mosquito control in the northern Chiang Rai Province, where more infections have been reported since the beginning of this year. The official count of dengue fever cases in Chiang Rai has now risen to 225. Authorities say more infections are expected this month due to the monsoon. However, Chiang Rai public health officer Dr. Chamnan Harnsuthivejkul confirms there have been no casualties from the disease so far. As a precaution, the locals are urged to help eliminate mosquito breeding grounds, especially in community areas and along the border. (TNA)
