Qatar Wins Asian Junior Handball Championship Title

Doha, July 13 (QNA) - HE Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Thani on Friday crowned Qatar's Handball team as champions of 2012 Asian Men's Junior Handball Championship in Qatar SC indoor in Doha. Qatar juniors confidently won the title following their deserving 25-22 victory over rivals South Korea in the final clash today. Last Wednesday, Qatar and South Korea booked their places at the 2013 Juniors Handball World Championship to be held in Bosnia and Herzegovina after beating Saudi Arabia and Kuwait 32-25 and 37-26 respectively. In clash for the third and fourth places, Kuwait defeated Saudi Arabia 30-28 in overtime. Kuwait won the third place in the13th Asian Men's Junior Handball Championship and qualified for Men's Junior World Championship 2013 to be held in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Championship is being hosted by the Qatar Handball Association (QHA) until 13 July with the participation of 14 teams. (QNA)
