AZERBAIJAN CAN GIVE DEMOCRACY LESSON FOR OTHER COUNTRIES, - MIKHAIL KROTOV

Baku, 15 0ctober, (AzerTAj)“Today, Azerbaijan can give democracy lesson for other countries,” Mikhail Krotov, Secretary General of the CIS Internparliamentary Assembly said after he had monitored voting process at a number of poling stations in Baku on Wednesday.

“The election process is transparent and peaceful, that is an evidence of stability
reigning in the country,” he said describing the created voting conditions as ideal.
Krotov noted improvements over previous elections have been seen. He praised what
had been done during the election preparation process his mission had monitored
since the 1st of August as well.
The shortcoming Krotov witnessed at one of the polling stations was an observer’s
entering a voting booth. “No observers are allowed to interfere with voting
process,” he said. Krotov also complained that exit-pollsters were too close to
poling stations. However, he described it as slight technical questions.
Mikhail Krotov announced that common position of CIS observers will be made public
at a press-conference they are planning to hold on October 16.
