1st Iranian flight lands at Baghdad airport

Baghdad, Oct 15, IRNA - After a 30-year halt, the first Iranian flight landed at Baghdad airport on Tuesday with 192 passengers.

The Airbus plane of Iran's Mahan Airways landed in Baghdad airport.

A ceremony was held on the occasion with the participation of a number
of Iranian diplomats in Iraq as well as officials from Iraqi Airways
which is the largest airways of the country.

The plane left Baghdad for Tehran one hour later.

According to a senior economic official of Iran's Embassy in Baghdad,
Mahan Airways will transfer cargo and passengers by making three
weekly direct flights to Baghdad on every Sundays, Tuesdays and
Thursdays.

The ticket price for the Tehran-Baghdad flight is dlrs 420 which is 50
dollars cheaper than the Iraqi Airways.

Mahan Airways is also expected to establish another flight to Baghdad
and Najaf cities from the holy city of Mashhad, Razavi Khorasan
province in northeastern Iran.
