RI`S WHITE-AND-RED FLAG MISSING PRIOR TO HASAN TIRO`S ARRIVAL AT MOSQUE

Banda Aceh, Indonesia, Oct. 15 (ANTARA) - Indonesia's national Red-and-White flag was missing from its pole after it had been pulled down by an unknown person prior to the arrival of Tgk Hasan Muhammad Di Tiro at Baiturrahman Grand Mosque, here recently, according to a staff member of the mosque.

"We don't know who pulled down the flag because it was crowded. For sure, the Red-and-White flag which was raised at the mosque's yard at 6 am local time, was replaced by Aceh Party's flag at around 8 am," the mosque's staff, who spoke unanimously, said.
The existence of the national flag is still unknown until now, according to him.
Meanwhile, the Indonesian National Police in Jakarta earlier said that there should be no other flag but the national Red-and-White flag at the mosque during the visit of Hasan Tro in Banda Aceh.
Banda Aceh Military Commander Lt. Col. Fauzi Rusli and Spokesman of the Iskandar Muda Provincial Military Command Major Dudi Dzulfadli confirmed about the missing of the national flag from the grand mosque.
However, the Aceh Party's flag was raised for around eight hours before finally was pulled down and replaced by the national flag at 12.35 am local time by the authorities.
After about 30 years of living in exile, Tgk Muhammad Hasan Tiro, 83, former Free Aceh Movement (GAM) leader, arrived Banda Aceh last Saturday (Oct. 11) for a visit of two weeks.
