Indonesian teachers, students visit school in Thailand

SURIN, THAILAND, July 3 (TNA) - More than 30 Indonesian teachers and students on Tuesday visited the Sirindhorn School in the northeastern province of Surin under the ‘Spirit of ASEAN’ programme. The teachers and students of Jogyakarta-based SMP Negeri 4 Pakem School were welcomed by Somkiat Panichkijcharoen, director of Sirindhorn School, teachers and students upon their arrival. They later watched the teaching of English language, audio visual class-room and exchanged talks with teachers and students of the school. Somkiat said the visit of Indonesian teachers and students falls under the cooperation between Indonesia and Thailand in exchanging knowledge and culture, aimed at publicising understanding of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and its activities which could benefit Thai youths. The visitors are scheduled to pay a two-day visit to Surin province bordering Cambodia. They plan to visit an elephant village in Tha Tum district and a silk village in Mueang district later. (TNA)
