CEC CHAIRMAN MEETS OSCE CHAIRMAN-IN-OFFICE REPRESENTATIVE FOR ELECTION OBSERVATION MISSIONS

Baku, 14 0ctober, (AzerTAj)Chairman of Central Election Commission of Azerbaijan Mazahir Panahov met Tuesday with Tom Gronberg, OSCE Chairman-in-Office’s Representative for Election Observation Missions who is in Baku to monitor the presidential election, according to Independent Press Center.

M. Panahov briefed Tom Gronberg on activities of CEC and Azerbaijan’s election
experience.
He stressed the country’s Election Code had been improved in accordance with
recommendations of international organizations.
According to the CEC Chairman, all necessary measures have been taken in the country
to conduct free, fair and transparent election. He added webcams were installed in
10 percent of polling stations.
Tom Gronberg, in turn, praised the level of election preparations in the country. He
expressed his confidence the election would be held in a free and transparent
manner.
