Qatar Media Corporation to Participate in World Media Summit in Moscow

Doha, July 01 (QNA) - Qatar Media Corporation will take part in the 2nd World Media Summit, due to be held in Moscow on 5 July 2012. HE the Executive President of Qatar Media Corporation Mubarak bin Jaham al-Kuwari will head the Qatari delegation to the three-day Summit. The Moscow Summit will be a continuation of the discussions initiated by the World media summit in Beijing in 2009 under the slogan "Global Media: Challenges in the 21st Century". The summit, which is scheduled to be opened by Russian President Vladimir Putin, will discuss a number of issues related to new media challenges in the era of globalization in addition to other topics related to social responsibility of media and the new social networking websites, the relationship between traditional and new media and the impacts of globalization in the flow of information and the spread of news as well as the dominance of monopolies and finance capital in the media industry.
