Qatar Exchange Index Drops 130.44 Points This Week

Doha, June 28 (QNA) - Qatar Exchange index lost 130.44 points (1.58%) this week when it closed Thursday at 8,123.02 points. The trading value increased by 9.98% when it reached reach QR 795,847,968.90 this week compared to QR 723,640,996.09 the previous week. The trading volume this week was 26,827,659 shares, a decrease by 1.75%, compared to 27,304,331 shares last week. The number of transactions was 13,667 this week, a decrease by 1.60% compared to 13,889 transactions last week. The market capitalization fell by 1.70% to reach QR 446,101,126,997.53 as compared to QR 453,820,658,533.60 at the end of previous week. Seven of the 42 listed companies ended this week higher while 35 noted losses. Qatar Oman Investment Company led the trading value this with 13.29% of the total traded value. Industries Qatar accounted for 13.07% and Qatar Islamic Bank accounted for 9.46%. Banks and financial services led the traded value this week with 48.6% of the total traded value. Industrial sector, which accounted for 20.75%. Transportation accounted for 7.98% and telecommunications accounted for 7.96%. Banks and financial services led traded volume this week with 51.86% of the total traded volume. Real estate accounted for 14.37%. Industrial sector accounted for 10.64% and transportation accounted for 8.44%. Banks and financial services led the number of traded transactions this week with 38.11% of the total transactions. Industrial sector accounted for 18.56%. Transportation accounted for 12.14% and real estate accounted for 11.34%. (QNA)
