Thailand, Cambodia agree to clear landmines along border

BANGKOK, June 29 (TNA) - Thai Defence Minister Air Chief Marshal Sukumpol Suwanatat said on Friday that Thailand and Cambodia have agreed to clear landmines in the vicinity of the Preah Vihear Temple along their common border. Air Chief Marshal Sukumpol told TNA in a phone interview that the agreement was a resolution of the Thai-Cambodian Joint Working Group (JWG) meeting, the second of its kind, held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia's capital, on Thursday. Meanwhile, Thai Army Chief General Prayuth Chan-ocha acknowledged that the Royal Thai Armed Forces are jointly responsible for the matter. (TNA)
