GAS PRODUCTION IN AZERBAIJAN TO REACH 26 BLN CM IN 2008
Baku, 14 0ctober, (AzerTAj) - Gas production in the country made up 5,5 bln cm in 2003, while this figure reached 26 bln cm in 2008, it was said during the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers dealing with the country’s socio-economic development for nine months of 2008.
In 2007, the government of Azerbaijan paid off huge means for 4.5 bln cm of gas
produced abroad. Due to the undertaken measures, the country refused from the import
and turned into the export country. Currently, gasification constitutes 84% against
62% in 2003.
Over the past five years, 14 regions of the country were supplied with gas.
