MINISTER: GLOBAL CRISIS DOES NOT AFFECT INDONESIA

Nusa Dua, Bali, Oct 14 (ANTARA) - Manpower and Transmigration Minister Erman Suparno said after the ASEM LEMC II opening ceremony, the global financial crisis does not affect Indonesia's economical life because it is based on the strength of the people.

"Even though the world's economy is facing a crisis, ours is still stable," said Suparno here Tuesday, adding the country's economic fundamental is different from each others, therefore it needs a different anticipation of the global financial crisis.

"Each of the countries will find different a strategy and solution in facing the global financial crisis. As for Indonesia, it will improve the real sector," he explained.

The global financial crisis happened lately, according to Suparno, is a challenge for Indonesia to realize that the economy in the country is based on the people's economy.
