TAUFIK KIEMAS WANTS COALITION BETWEEN PDIP AND GOLKAR
Jakarta, Oct. 15 (ANTARA) - Taufik Kiemas, chairman of the Advisory Board of the Indonesian Democratic Party for Struggle (PDIP) wanted to see a coalition between PDIP and Golkar Party.
"If PDIP and Golkar could establish a coalition between PDIP and Golkar, both will be happy," Taufik Kiemas told the press in his residence, here on Tuesday.
PDIP who has announced Megawati Soekarnoputri as its presidential nominee, was still looking for a vice presidential nominee, he said.
"In this country, it's impossible for us to be alone. We must work together with others, and only with a coalition we could cooperate," he said.
PDIP might announce its vice presidential nominee in its leadership meeting in Solo, Central Java, he said.
According to a survey, there are five figures potential to become vice presidential nominees of PDIP. They are Din Syamsudin, Sultan Hamengkubuwonono X, Hidayat Nur Wahid, Wiranto and Prabowo. However, Din Syamsudin, Sultan Hamengkubuwonono X, Wiranto and Prabowo have announced their presidential nomination.
