CEC CHAIRMAN MEETS EU SPECIAL REPRESENTATIVE FOR SOUTH CAUCASUS

Baku, 14 0ctober, (AzerTAj)Chairman of Central Election Commission Mazahir Panahov met Tuesday with EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus Peter Semneby, who is in Azerbaijan to monitor the presidential election, Independent Press Center under CEC said.

The CEC Chairman briefed P. Semneby on build-up to the election. According to him,
all necessary conditions have been created in the country to hold free and
transparent election. He added webcams were installed in 500 polling stations.
M.Panahov also noted more than 1200 international and 47 000 local observers, as
well as 100 foreign media journalists would monitor the election.
Peter Semneby, in his turn, praised the election preparations in the country. He
underlined the EU was convinced that the presidential election in Azerbaijan would
be conducted in a fair and transparent manner.
