Deputy PM, Chadian President Review Peace Process in Darfur

N'Djamena, June 26 (QNA) - Chadian President Idriss Deby met here on Tuesday with visiting Qatar's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, HE Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud. At the outset of the meeting, HE Al Mahmoud convoyed greetings of HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani and HH the Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to the Chadian President and their good wishes to the friendly people of Chad of further progress and prosperity. For his part, the Chadian President entrusted the Deputy Prime Minister with his greetings to HH the Emir and HH the Heir Apparent wishing the Qatari people further prosperity and growth. Talks during the meeting dealt with bilateral ties between the two countries besides a number of issues of mutual concern. The two sides also discussed the development of the peace process in Darfur and the ongoing efforts towards the implementation of the Doha Darfur Peace Document (DDPD). The meeting was attended by members of the official delegation accompanying HE the Deputy Prime Minister along with a number of Their Excellencies the Ministers and officials in the government of Chad. President Deby granted HE Al Mahmoud with the "Knight of Peace" contribution in recognition of his continuous efforts to achieve peace in Darfur. HE Al Mahmoud then left the Chadian capital N'Djamena heading to Doha at the end of a two-day official visit to the Republic of Chad.
