Thai business operators invited to invest in Guinea
BANGKOK, June 25 (TNA) - Visiting Guinea's President Alpha Condé has invited Thai business operators to expand their investment projects into Guinea to help boost development in his Western African nation, where business opportunities are now particularly opened in the local agricultural and energy sectors.
Condé, Guinea's first-elected President who is paying an official visit to Thailand from June 24-26, acknowledged Monday that Guinea is one of countries with plenty of natural resources and it is speeding up its lagged-behind national development in the wake of past dictatorship.
Condé said that Guinea possesses not only agricultural resources, but also energy and mineral deposits; so, he hopes Thai business operators will invest in Guinea's energy exploration, food production and agriculture, especially rice for domestic consumption.
According to the Guinean President, although world powers have started to invest in Guinea, his country is also welcoming investors from Thailand and medium-sized nations to accelerate national development.
The visiting Guinean President also met the Guinean community in Thailand. (TNA)
