Indonesia's quake felt in Thai South
SONGKHLA, THAILAND, June 23 (TNA) - An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.3 jolting Indonesia’s North Sumatra Saturday afternoon was felt in Thailand’s southern Songkhla Province.
Wanchai Sakudomchai, Director of Thailand's Southern Meteorological Center for East Coast (SMCEC), acknowledged that the new powerful quake in Indonesia could be felt by people on high-rise buildings in Songkhla, including Malaysian and Singaporean tourists in Hat Yai District, but they did not stir panic among them.
Wanchai said that the locals and tourists did not rush out from their buildings after the tremor and there were no immediate reports of any damage. (TNA)
