Yemen wins membership of Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis in Geneva
SANA'A, Oct.13 (Saba)- Yemen, represented by the Ministry of Public Health and Population, won on Monday membership of the Board of the Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria in Geneva.
Yemen won by obtaining 11 votes through competitive elections held on Monday in
Cairo and now has become representative of the Middle East and North Africa for the
two years.
It is worth to mention that the Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria
is one of the most important international organizations supporting health areas at
an annual budget of $13 billion. Yemen signed on Sunday an agreement with the Fund
of $ 27 million to support programs to combat AIDS, tuberculosis and Malaria.
