Thai PM to inspect water levels at dams

BANGKOK, June 10 (TNA) – Thailand’s Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra will leave Bangkok on Monday for a four-day inspection on major dams across the country, as part of ongoing plans for the monsoon flood. Accompanied by her ministers, Yingluck will visit a total of eight provinces, which are considered flood-prone areas. Her inspection will begin at the Chao Phraya River in Pathum Thani province, before she proceeds to Bhumibol Dam in Tak province. On Wednesday, Yingluck is due for a conference call with concerned ministers and governors near the Chao Phraya Dam in Chai Nat province. Before leaving on Monday, the prime minister is also scheduled to discuss flood prevention measures with members of the National Committee for Water and Flood Policy. (TNA)
