Downpours hit all Thai regions

BANGKOK, June 8 (TNA) - The Meteorological Department has warned people in all Thai regions to brace for widespread scattered rain with heavy downpours in some parts and possible floods and landslides in areas at risk over the next couple of days. The weather agency said in its latest statement, issued Friday morning, that people living in low-lying areas, namely near waterways and hillsides, in all regions should be especially prepared for subsequent impacts of the widespread rainfalls. The Meteorological Department's latest statement warned, in particular, people and tourists in southern Thai provinces, both located along the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman coasts, including Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi and Trang to beware of the widespread downpours with, probably, flash floods and landslides.
