Kaset Fair receives huge interest

BANGKOK, June 4 (TNA) - This year’s Kaset Fair, organised by Bangkok’s Kasetsart University, has drawn an immense interest from the public as several outstanding works designed to give an advance warning on flood as well as temporary camp for disaster victim are displayed. The Kaset Fair, began on May 30 and ends this Thursday, displays several innovative works made by the university’s professors and students. Among those innovative and exciting works are an equipment invented by Suthep Chankiew, a student doing doctorate degree in Forestry Faculty, which could give an advance warning on flood and landslide. A signal would be emitted from the equipment, enabling people to have enough time for evacuation. Another masterpiece work is a capsule-like equipment, prepared by the University’s Architecture Faculty, made from light weight polyethylene but has a strong resistance against heat and rain. It is suitable for victims of natural disaster to stay inside it for a temporary period. The zoning of pets and strange creatures also receives great interest from the visitors. The zoo in the northeastern province of Nakhon Ratchasima has sent more than 10 kinds of green vipers for display at the fair. (TNA)
