Seoul, New Delhi to discuss ways to boost defense trade
SEOUL, Oct. 13 (Yonhap) -- Officials from South Korea and India will meet next
week in New Delhi to discuss ways to boost their bilateral trade in defense
goods, Seoul's defense procurement agency said Monday.
The talks, the second of their kind, will be held next Monday.
"At the upcoming talks, the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA)
will discuss signing agreements on defense goods quality guarantees and
cooperation in defense technology between the two countries," the DAPA said in a
statement.
South Korea's delegation to the meeting will also work to promote the country's
defense articles, such as its indigenous K-1 tanks and self-propelled howitzers,
during its five-day trip to India that will start Saturday, it said.
The delegates will also pay a courtesy call on India's Defense Minister Shri A.
K. Antony next week before returning home Wednesday.
