BEI TO RESUME TRADE ON MONDAY AT 9.30
Jakarta, Oct 13 (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Stock Exchange (BEI) was expected to resume its trade on Monday at 9.30 am (Jakarta Automatic Trading System, JATS), it was reported here Monday.
"The stock trading at BEI will resume on Monday, October 13, 2008, starting from session I on JATS without pre opening," BEI's Corporate Secretary, Frederica Widyasari Dewi, said in her short message.
BEI had suspended its trade since last Wednesday at 11.06 JATS after the combined stock price index dropped by 183.768 points or 10.03 percent to the level of 1,648.739.
The combined stock price index was corrected by more than 20 percent within three days only and more than 40 percent since early this year.
BEI closed its trade as the index dropped too deep without the support of insignificant transactions valued only at Rp988 billion.
The stock authority considered the drop was irrational as market players panicked over the global financial crisis causing the global stock exchange underwent a drastic drop.
