SK Energy enters UAE lubricant market
SEOUL, Oct. 13 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's top refiner SK Energy Co. said Monday
that it has made inroads into the lubricant market of the United Arab Emirates,
joining hands with Indonesia's state-run oil and gas company, Pertamina.
"The Middle East is the main channel from which we import crude oil. We plans to
expand our presence to Persian Gulf countries such as Oman and Yemen," a company
official said, who asked not to be named.
In July last year, SK Energy and Pertamina jointly launched their lubricant brand
named "ZIPEX" in a bid to further tap into the global lubricant market.
SK Energy ranks first in market share of the world's lubricant markets.
