Shoura Council affirms strength of Saudi economy
Riyadh, October 12, SPA--Presided over by its Chairman Sheikh Dr.
Saleh bin Abdullah bin Homaid, the Shoura Council affirmed in its
session here today the strength of Saudi economy in the current
crisis witnessed by the world economy and the stability of economic
and financial situation in the Kingdom which is not affected by the
crisis as a result of developmental and investment plans taken to
finance and build economic and developmental projects.
In a statement read by its Chairman, the Council noted that the
stability and integrity of liquidity and the economic situation in
the Kingdom and the absence of the need for extraordinary measures
have been enhanced by the state's plans, financial precautions and
the government's efforts and policies to keep up with events to avoid
the impact of the crisis according to the directives of the Custodian
of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
The Council pointed out that the national economy is growing steadily
by achieving an increase in the gross domestic product by 3.4 percent
as well as the improvement of the state's general budget for the
fifth consecutive year which will increase the state's support for
developmental projects.
