TNI CHIEF APOLOGIZES TO THE PEOPLE
Surabaya, E Java, Oct 12 (ANTARA) - The Military (TNI) Chief, General Djoko Santoso, apologized to the Indonesian people for any incorrect attitude or behavior of his subordinates in the past year.
He offered his apology at a press conference on the occasion of TNI's 63rd anniversary at Ujung here on Sunday.
"We fully realize that it would be impossible for military to make any achievement without popular support," he said.
Accompanied by the three military chiefs of staff, he also expressed gratitude to the people and at the same time asked for forgiveness for the closure of the Juanda airport, Surabaya, for 2,5 hours for observing TNI's 36th anniversary on October 14, 2008.
"I realize that the people's interest may be affected by the 2.5 hours closure," he said.
