GOVT TO EXECUTE AMROZY AT EL
Denpasar, Oct 12 (ANTARA) - The government has been urged to immediately execute the three Bali bomb convicts such as Amrozy, Imam Samudra and Ali Gufron for the sake of law enforcement in Indonesia.
"The government through the Attorney General could order the implementation of capital punishment to the three death row convicts and therefore the execution should not be procrastinated," a member of the Bali Legislative Assembly Si Ketut Mandira Natha said here on Sunday.
This case has really violated the law and therefore there is no reason for the government to delay the execution. If the execution has to be delayed from time to time, the international world will likely see Indonesia's law as being weak.
Hence, the government should take a terse stance over this case. "Don't bring it into political area."
Natha further stressed the issue on law should be enforced. "We don't have to let it enter to other aspects. Legal decision in Indonesia is often delayed, thus worsening the image of Indonesian law itself in international eyes.
"As a representative of the people, I am really disappointed with the government's stance. The convicts had killed and injured hundreds of people through the bomb blasts in Bali, while the families left behind by the deads had to earn a living for their children," Natha said.
