Djoko explained that the book was an instrument for TNI commanders to give directives and guidance to their subordinates about what they can or can not do in implementing their duty.
Through the book, all military personnel were banned from being involved in practical politics and the commanders of respective unit in the military had been asked to take a follow up of the guidance specified in the books to their subordinates.
Asked about possible sanction to be imposed on soldiers found to have violated the points decribed in the book, Djoko said that his side would take several steps starting from administrative sanction up to jail sentence.
Meanwhile, Chief of the TNI Information Services Rear Marshal Sagom Tamboen said that the book would be distributed to all military personnel across the country starting Oct 14, 2008.
"The book also provides more details of what the military personnel are not allowed to do especially in regional head, legislative and presidential elections. If some violations is still found, please don't hesitate to remind us," he said.
