SCH Announces Completion of Field Phase of Non-Communicable Diseases Survey
Doha, May 20 (QNA) - The Supreme Council of Health (SCH) said it has completed field phase of that 'National Stepwise Survey of Non-Communicable Diseases and Risk Factors'.
The field implementation started on 7 March, and the Council is due to launch the phase of statistical analysis of the survey that targeted Qatari households with the objective of determining the real burden of non-communicable diseases and its risk factors in Qatar.
The SCH carried out the program in collaboration with the Primary Health Care (PHC), Hamad Medical Corporation, Qatar Science and Technology Park, Qatar Diabetes Association, Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar (WCMC-Q) and the Qatar Statistics Authority.
The project is part of SCH's implementation for the National Health Strategy 2011-2016. Its goal is to determine the real burden of chronic non-communicable diseases in Qatar.
The survey includes a questionnaire on the demographics and medical history of respondents, measurement of vital statistics and testing of blood glucose and cholesterol. (QNA)
