Iran plans to sue Google over removal of Persian Gulf’s name

SHIRAZ, May 19 (MNA) - Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said that Iran plans to take legal action against Google over its decision to leave the Persian Gulf nameless on its online map service. “One of the seditious measures taken in line with the soft war against the Iranian nation has been Google’s shameless act to remove the name of the Persian Gulf which is inconsistent with historical documents,” Mehmanparast said on Thursday. “The country’s diplomatic apparatus has put filing an official complaint against Google and pursuing its move through legal channels on its agenda,” he stated.
