PRESIDENT TO KICK OFF INDONESIAN DAY, NATIONAL PLANTING MONTH

Lebak, W Java, Oct 11 (ANTARA)- President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono will kick off the Indonesian Day and National Planting Month drive (HMI-BN) in Lebak district, West Java province on November 28, a forestry official said.

On the occasion, the president would directly conduct the planting of Nyamplung seeds, bio-diesel raw material with 250 hectares wide at the central command of education and training for combat exercises (Dodiklatpur) of Siliwangi regional military command at Sajira sub-district, head of Lebak district forestry office Asep Mauladi said here Saturday.
The HMI-BN drive was aimed to help preserve environment and prevent the global warming issue, Asep said, adding that the country so far has been suffering from an alarming forestry condition due to illegal logging.

Thus, Asep encourage all people to resume conducting the forestry and nature regreening and rehabilitation program.

The Nyamplung fruits can be used as an alternative fuel, Asep added.
