MALAYSIA DEPORTS 151 RI ILLEGAL MIGRANT WORKERS

Tanjungpinang, Sumatra, Oct. 11 (ANTARA) - Malaysia deported some 151 illegal Indonesian migrant workers and sent them home from Malaysia's Pasir Gudang Johor, to Sri Bintan Pura harbor in Tanjungpinang, Riau Islands, Sumatra, Friday evening.
The migrant workers consisted of 136 males, 13 females and two children.
"Before returning them to their hometowns, the migrant workers are accommodated in Tanjungpinang," Ispaisah of the Tanjungpinang immigration office, said.
He said that Malaysia deported hundreds of Indonesian workers every week.
"In a week, up to three ferries carry hundreds of Indonesian workers from Pasir Gudang harbour to Tanjungpinang seaport," he said.
