GOVT OFFICIALS PAY CONDOLENCE VISITS TO FINANCE MINISTER
Semarang, Oct 11 (ANTARA) - A number of cabinet ministers and government officials on Saturday paid condolence visits to Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati whose mother passed away here on Friday.
Sri Mulyani's mother, Prof Retno Sriningsih (77), passed away at 7:45 on Friday evening leaving behind ten children and and a number of grand children.
Her body is laid in state at the mortuary on Kelud Raya street before being buried at Bergoto public cemetery at 1 on Saturday afternoon.
Present at the mortuary were among others Home Affairs Minister Mardiyanto, Communication and Information Minister Muhamad Nuh, and Trade Minister Mari Elka Pangestu.
Also present were Bank Indonesia Senior Deputy Governor Miranda Goeltom, Central Java Governor Bibit Waluyo and Vice Governor Rustriningsih, and a number of Central Java councillors.
The mortuary was also full of wreaths from President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, several cabinet ministers, government institutions, and from Yogyakarta Governor Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X.
Traffic passing by the mortuary on Kelud Raya street on Saturday was diverted to other streets.
